Our H-Series Cutting Element is a very high molecular density form of polyethylene. Like other synthetic materials, it is made in other forms beside long flexible line.
Like bullet-proof vests! Polyethylene, by the way, is the most widely used plastic on the planet. Think 'plastic bags'. The very long chains of molecules are aligned
which gives the material its very low stretch and high strength. In fact, the strength-to-weight ratio is more than 10 times better than steel. It actually stresses the adhesive to failure rather than cutting it.
If you have used a filament or wire for severing an adhesive bead, you will have noticed the difference the cut bead surface reveals. With wire the surface of the adhesive is nice and smooth, while the surface
cut with a filament will leave residual particles around the area and the surface of the adhesive is very porous looking and rough.
I offer a 16 count braid with various breaking strengths depending on what your needs are. Windshields require high strength than that for other fixed glass parts.
Very low stretch which removes any concern for kinetic "backlash"
Elongation @ break 2.7%
@ break 550 lbs.
50 meter packaging (164 feet).
