Each car is different, we can show an easy removal and it may differ from what you experience. We feel the best way to show a winding tool is on a windshield buck, as shown below, to demonstrate the process.
Just like with manual tools, you get feedback from the sound the wire makes when tightening and you can hear the strain of the motor. Every Glass Bot has been tested to remain on a vertical surface without any loss of vacuum for one hour. |
Easy-To-Use Set-up - is simple and straightforward Hear and Feel - Audio tone and tension of the wire provides feedback on the cutting process Technique - New hires can be trained instantly Safety - Cutting process is SANDWICHED between the glass and the Protection Sheet - NO DAMAGE Operator ISOLATED from strain of cutting urethane - NO INJURIES. THE difference between a tool and a machine. USA - CANADA - UK PATENTS PENDING |

TIPS & TRICKS Very simply, you want the Cutting Element to be cutting back on itself just as if you were using the old sawing motion, but we don't saw, we pull. If you look at the diagram below, you can see that when cutting in this way, a minimum thickness of urethane is presented to the Cutting Element. As the angle increases, so does the cutting area of urethane. Utilize our Pulley/Anchor Cups and Wrath to adjust the cutting angle.
When
using the Pulley Cup or the Wrath, remember this table.
While some videos show examples of the two images to the left above, unless the point of contact rotates, more friction is added to the task and heavier loads are placed on the whole system. Our competitors accessories do not rotate and create more strain when used. When, not if, the Cutting Element breaks, you can tie a knot and continue .
On Toyota's, keep the wire pressed against the glass on upper corners and out 8" to clear the glass hanger flange on the pinchweld. This flange will break the wire if caught. 2011 JEEP Wrangler: Flange on a-pillars about 6" up offer a snag point. As you begin cuttin up the a-pillar from the bottom, press the Cutting Element tight to the glass using the Dash Protection Sheet. Hold it tight until you pass the point of the flanges. This prevents the Cutting Element from breaking.
Wide urethane on corners Most cutting element breakage can be attributed to two things. Cutting to much urethane at a wrong angle and catching the wire on body flanges or attachments. To reduce breakage caused by wide adhesive beads, start the wire in BOTH corners and cut to the center of the bottom first. You will need to switch the ends of the cutting element to accomplish this, but it takes just seconds and reduces, if not eliminates the breakage associated with this situation. Then,
set up to cut the A-pillar and top section. |

The
Glass Bot™ is NOT a do all/ be all machine. Just like other tools,
it has it's place. But, once you use it, you'll use it more and more.
Remember, it does the work for you. |
